Penn State’s track and field team finished its first split-squad weekend of the 2026 outdoor season at the Knights Invite on March 28.
The meet featured strong performances from several Nittany Lions athletes. Ajani Dwyer ran a time of 9.96 seconds in the men’s 100-meter dash, making him the NCAA leader in that event for 2026. In field events, Robert Allen achieved a personal outdoor best with a jump of 6-11.50 (2.12 meters) in the men’s long jump, earning second place.
Alexandria North secured third place in the women’s 400-meter dash with a time of 53.77 seconds, just missing out on entering Penn State’s all-time top ten by three hundredths of a second. Lizzie Schreiber placed fourth in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 40-9.75 (12.44 meters), while Matthew Sarnowski also took fourth and set a personal best in the men’s discus with a throw of 167-2 (50.95 meters).
The Knights Invite marked an important early test for Penn State as they begin their outdoor campaign, allowing athletes to gauge their progress against national competition.
Looking ahead, Penn State will travel again to Florida for the Florida Relays in Gainesville, scheduled for April 3 and April 4.
