Penn State’s track and field team will participate in the Bison Outdoor Classic, a three-day meet hosted by Bucknell University starting Saturday, April 11 and running through Monday, April 13. The competition will take place at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

The event marks an important step in Penn State’s outdoor season as athletes look to build on recent strong performances. Last week at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, several Nittany Lions set new school records or moved up the program’s all-time lists.

Ajani Dwyer set a school record with a time of 10.06 seconds in the men’s 100-meter dash, earning Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. Jake Palermo improved his own third-best mark in program history with a time of 45.29 seconds in the men’s 400-meter dash, finishing second overall. Senior Marie-Eloise LeClair recorded notable times as well—23.14 seconds for fourth-fastest ever by a Penn State woman in the 200-meter dash and tying for fourth-fastest at 11.56 seconds in the women’s 100-meter dash.

Tayissa Buchanan ran a personal best of 2:04.36 to claim sixth-fastest all-time for Penn State women’s outdoor performances over 800 meters. In throwing events, Collin Burkhart moved into third place on Penn State’s hammer throw list with a mark of 221-6 (67.53m), while Sasha Garnett placed fifth overall at Florida Relays with her shot put effort.

The upcoming Bison Outdoor Classic will feature Nittany Lion competitors across multiple events including sprints, distance races, hurdles, jumps and throws on both men’s and women’s sides.

Fans can follow updates about race schedules and results via Penn State track and field social media channels throughout the weekend.
