Penn State announced on March 25 that its track and field team will participate in two meets during a split-squad weekend as part of the 2026 outdoor season.

The team will send athletes to the Raleigh Relays, an event they have attended each year since 2022, from Thursday, March 26 through Saturday, March 28. In addition, Penn State will compete at the Knights Invite in Orlando, Florida for the first time since 2022. The Knights Invite is hosted by the University of Central Florida and runs from Friday, March 27 to Saturday.

Last week, Penn State began its outdoor season at the Penn Challenge in Philadelphia. Several athletes delivered notable performances. Collin Burkhart finished second in men’s hammer with a personal record of 217-1.00 (66.17m), marking the fifth-best throw in program history. Sam Engrebretson took third place with a throw of 189-6.00 (57.77m). On the women’s side, Alex Pancoast placed third and Gabi Deglau fifth in their hammer competition.

Three Nittany Lions won their events: Gwen Cudmore took first place in women’s high jump at 5-7.25 (1.71m), Audrey Friedman won women’s javelin with a throw of 141-7.00 (43.15m), and Joe White secured victory in men’s long jump at 22-10.75 (6.98m).

This week’s competitions feature a wide range of events for both men’s and women’s teams across distance running, jumping events, throws, sprints, hurdles, relays and more at both venues.
