The No. 20 Penn State Nittany Lions will travel to Tempe, Arizona, for the Arizona State Regional of the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships on April 2. The meet is scheduled for 10 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+. Penn State joins three-seed Florida, 14-seed California, and either Arizona or host Arizona State, depending on the outcome of an April 1 play-in.

This marks Penn State’s fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and its 49th overall. The team continues a long tradition of participation at the national level.

The Nittany Lions recently finished sixth at the Big Ten Championships with a team score of 196.000 across all four rotations. Their strongest performances came on uneven bars and floor exercise, where they surpassed scores of 49.100 in both events. Dani Latronica and Elizabeth Leary led on bars with matching scores of 9.875, while Leary also posted a total all-around score of 39.225.

Head Coach Sarah Brown saw three athletes earn All-Big Ten honors this season: Latronica was named First Team; Ava Piedrahita and Ava Cash were selected to Second Team; Cash also received All-Freshman recognition. Latronica has been among Penn State’s most consistent performers with high national qualifying scores (NQS) on uneven bars (9.895) and balance beam (9.910), placing her among conference leaders.

Entering regionals ranked No. 20 nationally with a team NQS of 196.470, Penn State stands out particularly on uneven bars—ranked eleventh nationally—and holds strong positions within conference rankings across other events as well.
