Penn State women’s tennis will conclude its regular season at home with matches against No. 22 Washington on Friday and Oregon on Sunday, according to an April 16 announcement from the university. The team will honor seniors Olivia Dorner and Maiko Uchijima during Senior Day festivities against Oregon at the Sarni Tennis Center.

The upcoming matches mark the last opportunity for Penn State (13-9, 4-7 Big Ten) to compete before postseason play begins. Both contests are significant as they provide a chance for players to improve their rankings and close out the season on a strong note.

Dorner has achieved over 100 career wins at Penn State, with her current total standing at 108 victories across singles and doubles competitions. She was previously named All-Big Ten Second Team, Academic All-Big Ten, and selected for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-Region team. Uchijima joined Penn State after transferring from Temple University and has accumulated notable achievements including three NCAA Doubles Championships appearances—one of which came alongside Dorner after winning the ITA Northeast Regional Doubles Championship—and multiple academic honors.

Last weekend, Penn State split its road trip by falling narrowly to Indiana but sweeping Purdue in a decisive win. In doubles play, Dorner and Maelie Monfils returned to the ITA rankings at No. 89 following two ranked victories, bringing their spring record as a pair to eight wins out of eleven matches.

Washington enters Friday’s match ranked No. 22 nationally with a record of 17-3 (8-3 Big Ten), while Oregon holds an ITA ranking of No. 70 with a record of 12-11 (3-8 Big Ten). Both meetings this weekend will be first-time encounters between Penn State and these opponents since Washington joined the Big Ten last year and Oregon entered in its second season.
