Penn to face Brown in Ivy League baseball tournament opener on May 15

The University of Pennsylvania baseball team will play against third-seeded Brown in the opening round of the Ivy League Tournament, according to a May 11 announcement. The game is scheduled for Friday at George H.W. Bush ’48 Field in New Haven, with first pitch set for 4 p.m.

The tournament holds significance as Yale recently secured its second consecutive Ivy League regular-season title after sweeping Dartmouth and will serve as host and top seed for the event. Penn concluded its regular season with a record of 20-20 overall and a conference mark of 14-7, earning its fourth straight appearance in the Ivy League postseason.

Penn won five out of its last six games to finish the season, including a sweep over Harvard and a series win against Brown. During their final road series, Penn outscored Harvard by a combined score of 30-15 to clinch their postseason spot. Both Penn and Columbia are noted as the only teams to have participated in all four editions of the Ivy League postseason tournament.

The full schedule lists Yale facing Columbia at 11 a.m., followed by Penn versus Brown at 4 p.m. on Friday. Subsequent games are set through Monday if necessary, with all contests streamed live on ESPN+ and live stats available throughout the weekend.

Penn Quakers Men’s Baseball competes at the NCAA Division I level, maintains membership in the Ivy League, hosts home games at Tommy Lasorda Field at Meiklejohn Stadium, and participates as part of University of Pennsylvania’s intercollegiate athletics program, according to the official website.
