The University of Pennsylvania track and field teams concluded their regular season on May 2 at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, New Jersey. Freshman Simeon Adams broke the school record in the men’s 200 meters with a personal-best time of 20.80 seconds, finishing third in the event.

The meet was significant for both men’s and women’s teams as they prepare for upcoming championships. The women’s 4×400 meter relay team, consisting of Rianna Floyd, Sofia Swindell, Jailyn Milord, and Amelia Kristen, secured first place with a time of 3:33.51—marking the third-fastest performance in program history.

Other notable performances included Swindell, Milan Ramey, Floyd, and Milord winning the women’s 4×100 meter relay with a time of 44.72 seconds. Ramey also took first place in the women’s 100 meters with a time of 11.90 seconds. Adele Martin recorded a time of 10:17.26 in the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase—the second-fastest ever by a Penn athlete.

On the men’s side, Vinay Raman and Benjamin Markham posted personal bests in the men’s 800 meters with times of 1:48.55 and 1:48.99 respectively; Thomas Bucks cleared an outdoor personal record height of 5.20 meters (17’0.75″) to win pole vault—a mark that ranks seventh all-time at Penn.

In field events for women, Jessica Oji achieved a discus throw measuring 47.19 meters (154’10”), placing her fourth on Penn’s all-time list for that event.

Looking ahead, Penn will return to Princeton to compete at the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships scheduled for May 16–17.
