The University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s track and field teams completed the second day of the Paul Donahue Invitational in Chester, Pa., on April 18, with several athletes achieving personal bests and top finishes.
The event highlighted strong performances across sprints, hurdles, jumps, relays, and distance races. These results demonstrate ongoing development for both teams as they continue their outdoor season.
Daniella Oyenuga won both the women’s 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 11.67 seconds—fifth fastest in program history—and the 200 meters in another personal best of 23.75 seconds. Milan Ramey finished second in the latter event at 23.87 seconds. On the men’s side, freshman Simeon Adams swept both sprint events with times of 10.43 seconds in the 100 meters (sixth all-time at Penn) and 21.21 seconds in the 200 meters (tenth all-time).
Annika Topchy secured first place in the women’s 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.42, ranking ninth historically for Penn women. She later joined Ava Nebel, Ramey, and Simone Castelluccio to win the women’s four-by-400 meter relay in a time of 3:48.78.
In field events, Kampton Kam cleared a height of 2.12 meters to win the men’s high jump while Samantha Strydesky took first place on the women’s side by clearing 1.65 meters; Lydia Merrick also cleared that mark to finish second after two attempts.
Other notable performances included Rebecca Hoover’s victory in pole vault with a personal-best clearance of 3.85 meters (ninth all-time), Alex Georgiev’s runner-up finish among men at a height of 4.95 meters, Sarah Fischer’s win—and Ivy League fifth-fastest time—in the women’s steeplechase at ten minutes thirty-five point three-four seconds, as well as Jailyn Milord recording this season’s fastest Ivy League time for women’s invitational four hundred meters (52.86) during competition at Florida’s Tom Jones Invitational.
