The University of Pennsylvania women’s rowing team will participate in the Orlando Invitational, a two-day event hosted by the University of Central Florida on Lake Pickett, beginning Friday, April 17.

The event is significant for Penn’s nationally ranked program as it offers an opportunity to compete against several top teams. Alongside Penn and host UCF—ranked eleventh—the field includes Alabama (thirteenth), Duke (fourteenth), Miami (fifteenth), Oklahoma (twenty-fourth), Clemson, and Southern Methodist University. The Quakers will enter four boats in the competition: three eights and one four.

Head coach Bill Manning said, “We are excited to return to Florida and race in the Orlando Invite. We enjoy competing with other top teams from across the country and challenging ourselves. We’ve been moving well in practice and picking up speed. Now we get to test ourselves and our ability to produce our best speed on race day.”

The schedule features heats on Friday morning with races starting at 7:40 a.m., including matchups against UCF, Miami, and Clemson across various boat divisions. Finals will take place Saturday morning beginning at 7:40 a.m., with advancement determined by heat results.
