The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans for pipe replacement and base repair operations on several state highways in Chester and Delaware counties. These activities are part of ongoing projects to repair and pave over 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
In Chester County, Route 162 (Embreeville Road) will be closed from Monday, June 30, through Wednesday, July 2, between Route 82 (Doe Run Road) and Stargazers Road in Newlin and East Marlborough townships for base repair. Motorists will be redirected via Stargazers Road, Strasburg Road, and Route 82. Additionally, Scroggy Road will be closed weekdays from Wednesday, July 2, through Tuesday, July 8, between Street Road and Jackson School Road in Lower Oxford Township for pipe replacement. Drivers should use Street Road, Union School Road, and Jackson School Road as detours.
In Delaware County, Glen Mills Road will be closed from Monday, June 30, through Thursday, July 3, between Cheyney Road and Stoney Bank Road in Thornbury Township for base repair. Creek Road will also face closures on weekdays from Wednesday, July 2, through Friday, July 11, between Westtown Road and Tanguy Road in Thornbury Township for similar repairs. Detours include Cheyney Road and Glen Mills Road.
Local access will remain available during these closures. PennDOT advises drivers to allow extra time when traveling near these work areas due to expected delays. All activities are subject to weather conditions.
