Roadway construction is set to continue on the Business U.S. 322 (High Street) safety improvement project in West Chester Borough and West Goshen Township, as announced by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). The project aims to enhance safety at intersections along the corridor in Chester County.

Travel restrictions are scheduled for motorists: on Monday, July 14, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a lane closure with flagging will occur between Miner Street and Norfolk Avenue. Further closures are planned from Wednesday, July 16, through Friday, July 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM between Miner Street and Rosedale Avenue. Drivers should anticipate delays and allow extra travel time through these areas. All activities depend on weather conditions.

Under this contract, new traffic signals will be installed at University Avenue and Sharpless Street. The project includes retroreflective backplates on existing signals, modern LED luminaries, pedestrian countdown timers at signalized intersections, curb extensions, high-visibility crosswalks, drainage improvements, full-depth pavement restoration, and complete roadway resurfacing.

Marino Corporation of Skippack is the general contractor for this $2.6 million project funded entirely by federal funds. Completion is expected by winter 2026.
