The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that all driver’s license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed from Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

Customers can still access a variety of driver and vehicle products and services online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website. Online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These include renewals for driver’s licenses, photo IDs, and vehicle registrations; driver-history services; address changes; restoration letters for licenses or registrations; payment of restoration fees; duplicates for licenses or IDs; REAL ID pre-verification; and scheduling of driver exams. There are no additional fees for using these online services.

A complete listing of PennDOT driver and photo license center closings in 2026 is available online. Those planning to visit one of PennDOT’s Online Messenger Service Centers are advised to call ahead regarding hours during holidays.

The department also reminds residents that a REAL ID driver’s license or ID card—or another acceptable form such as a passport—is now required to board domestic flights. Individuals unsure about whether they need a REAL ID can use the department’s online wizard at pa.gov/REALID for more information.

Drivers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. The service provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, speed information, access to over 1,200 traffic cameras, and is available via smartphone application or by calling 5-1-1. More information can be found on X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Further details are available in the organization’s press release.
