The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced an online plan display for the Route 2001 (Hillsdale Road) structure replacement over a tributary to Conewago Creek in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County. The project aims to replace the existing masonry arch culvert with a new precast reinforced concrete box culvert. This initiative is intended to ensure continued safe and efficient access on Route 2001.

The current structure, originally built in 1920 and reconstructed in 1982, will be replaced with minimal roadway work. Additional tasks include installing rock scour protection and MASH-compliant guide rails, reconstructing pavement tie-ins, and updating the single-lane corridor to two lanes with shoulders. During construction, which is expected to begin in Spring 2027 and last about six months, the bridge will be closed to all traffic. A detour route will be provided.

Public input is being solicited through a digital version of the project plans available online until July 2, 2025. The plans display serves as an opportunity for public review and comment on potential effects on Cultural Resources under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
