The Pennsylvania GOP announced that Americans continue to face the effects of Democratic policies, which it claims led to inflation and an affordability crisis in Pennsylvania.

According to a post by the Pennsylvania GOP on X, these policies include spending decisions that contributed to rising inflation and costs. The party argues that inflation resulted from deliberate policy choices rather than being an unforeseen occurrence.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers in the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington area increased by 3.9 percent over the 12 months ending in December 2025. This regional increase surpasses the national average of 2.7 percent. Transportation costs also rose by 3 percent locally, compared to a national increase of just 0.4 percent, exacerbating affordability issues in Pennsylvania.

Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that the annual inflation rate remained at 2.7 percent for the same period, with core inflation—excluding food and energy—at 2.6 percent. Gasoline prices averaged approximately $2.83 per gallon nationally, showing some stability amid various economic factors.

The Pennsylvania GOP, established in 1854, is affiliated with the national Republican Party and aims to elect Republicans while promoting conservative values across the state. It operates a statewide organization headquartered in Harrisburg to support candidates and voters.
