Pennsylvania House Republicans announced in a post on X that most Americans, across party lines, support keeping girls’ sports for girls and stand with parents and athletes who prioritize fairness and safety.

According to the Pennsylvania House Republicans, eight out of ten Americans, including 94 percent of Republicans and two-thirds of Democrats, support keeping girls’ sports for girls.

A majority of Pennsylvanians support preventing transgender athletes from participating in girls’ sports, according to polling from Franklin & Marshall College. That poll put the number at 64 percent support. The poll reflects views in the context of legislation like the Save Women’s Sports Act passed by the Pennsylvania Senate.

The New York Times and Ipsos poll showed that 79 percent of Americans believe men should not compete in women’s sports. This includes 94 percent of Republicans, 67 percent of Democrats, and 64 percent of Independents. The poll indicates broad consensus on the issue.

The Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus consists of Republican members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. It focuses on advancing Republican priorities and electing more Republicans to the House. The caucus operates from the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg.
