The Philadelphia Flyers announced on May 15 that goaltender Aleksei Kolosov has been re-signed to a one-year contract extension with an average annual value of $850,000, according to General Manager Daniel Briere.
Kolosov, who is 24 years old and from Minsk, Belarus, spent most of the 2025-26 season playing for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the American Hockey League. He recorded a 15-21-2 record with two shutouts in 38 games played. During this period, he allowed the eighth-fewest goals against in the league and achieved a career-best .895 save percentage while maintaining a goals-against average of 2.98.
The Flyers selected Kolosov in the third round (78th overall) of the 2021 National Hockey League Draft. He has appeared in 21 NHL games for Philadelphia so far, including four during this season and holds a record of five wins, eleven losses, and one overtime loss at that level. Over parts of three seasons with Lehigh Valley, he played in 52 games with a .892 save percentage and a goals-against average of 3.02.
Before moving to North America, Kolosov played parts of four seasons for Dinamo Minsk in the Kontinental Hockey League. There he appeared in 120 regular-season games with a record of 49-56-10 and participated in another fourteen playoff matches. He was named to KHL All-Star Games for both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
