Philadelphia Union Youth announced on May 14 that it is planning a soccer trip to Lisbon, Portugal in spring 2027. The tour is being organized by EPL Sports Tours and aims to provide young athletes with international competition, professional training opportunities, and cultural experiences.
The trip is intended to offer players exposure to different styles of play and the chance to experience soccer culture in one of the world’s top football destinations. According to the announcement, previous Philadelphia Union Youth tours have taken players and families abroad to places such as the United Kingdom and Spain.
“We are excited to announce that EPL Sports Tours is currently planning a Philadelphia Union Youth trip to Lisbon, Portugal, for Spring 2027. EPL Sports has been delivering world-class international sports travel experiences since 2007, creating memorable opportunities for young athletes through elite competition, professional training environments, cultural excursions, and international travel experiences,” the organization said.
Portugal was described as home to legendary clubs and passionate supporters. The planned itinerary may include high-level training sessions, matches against international teams, stadium visits, and various cultural activities. Families interested in participating are encouraged by organizers to fill out an interest form online in order to receive updates or secure a spot on upcoming informational Zoom calls about the trip.
Philadelphia Union functions as a professional soccer team in Major League Soccer focused on representing its city while fostering youth programs like this one according to the official website. The club features Subaru Park as its home stadium along with dedicated training facilities according to the official website.
