A Pittsburgh resident has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for possessing multiple firearms and ammunition, in violation of federal law. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
Morisee Williams, 41, from the Knoxville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, received the sentence from United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan.
Court documents state that in May 2024, the FBI executed a search warrant at Williams’ home. During the search, agents recovered four firearms—two of which were reported stolen—along with about seven ammunition magazines, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a firearm mount, and a rifle grip. As a convicted felon, Williams is legally barred from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Katherine C. Jordan and Kelly M. Locher.
Acting U.S. Attorney Rivetti praised the Federal Bureau of Investigation for its work on the case. “Acting United States Attorney Rivetti commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Williams.”
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF focuses on identifying and dismantling high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations through collaboration among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
