PPL Electric Utilities announced on May 5 that it will participate in a free customer assistance event scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, in Scranton. The company said its representatives will be available at The Salvation Army, located at 500 S. Washington Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to provide information about available assistance programs and eligibility guidelines for customers seeking support with their electric bills.

The event is intended to help PPL Electric customers learn about payment assistance options such as the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which ends May 8, as well as Operation HELP and OnTrack. Company representatives will also assist attendees with the application process for these programs.

Customers planning to attend are advised to bring proof of identification, proof of income for all household residents, and their bill account numbers. For those unable to attend the event in person, additional information about payment plans and assistance programs can be found online at pplelectric.com/BillHelp.

According to PPL Electric Utilities, the company delivers electricity to approximately 1.5 million homes and businesses across eastern and central Pennsylvania. It is recognized among top utility companies nationally for reliability and customer satisfaction.

The company said it remains committed as a major employer and community supporter within its service area.
