Rep. Brendan Boyle, U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district, addressed local and national issues in a series of posts on his social media account this week.

On February 2, Boyle commented on recent events at Rittenhouse Square, stating, “The pro-Hamas rally we saw at Rittenhouse Square yesterday was vile, antisemitic, and against who we are as a city. To keep all Philadelphians safe, we must stand together and emphatically reject all calls to violence and hate wherever they appear.”

The following day, February 3, Boyle highlighted support for survivors of human trafficking through funding for a local program: “Thrilled to deliver $250,000 today for the Salvation Army’s New Day program, which helps survivors of human trafficking. This investment will further empower the Salvation Army to do good work, lifting up the people in our neighborhoods who need it most.”

Later that same day, he criticized former President Donald Trump’s comments on economic issues: “Trump said the cost of living crisis is a ‘con job.’ He should tell that to my neighbors who are paying $2,000 more every year. See the consequences in communities across America with my new tool:”

Boyle has served in Congress since 2015 after replacing Allyson Schwartz and previously held office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977 and currently residing there, Boyle graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in 1999.
