Rep. Brendan Boyle, who represents Pennsylvania’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on January 16, 2026, outlining his recent legislative efforts aimed at strengthening the United States’ commitment to NATO and preventing unilateral actions against the alliance.

In a tweet published on January 16, 2026, Boyle stated, “As the top Democrat on Congress’s delegation to NATO, I am uncompromising in my support for this alliance. This week, I introduced the NO NATO for Purchase Act & No Funds for NATO Invasion Act. Both would prevent Trump from betraying our allies and making us less safe. (1/4)”.

He further detailed one of these legislative proposals in a subsequent tweet: “The bipartisan No Funds for NATO Invasion Act would prohibit the United States from invading a NATO member state or territory. Read more here: https://t.co/aCfywLzM0Q (2/4)”.

Boyle emphasized the historical importance of NATO and expressed concerns about potential threats to its integrity by individual presidents: “NATO was built from the ashes of World War II to prevent such a conflict from ever occurring again. For nearly 80 years, it has been the most successful military alliance in human history. We cannot allow one president’s selfish desires to betray this historic alliance. (4/4)”.

Brendan Boyle has served as a member of Congress since 2015 after succeeding Allyson Schwartz and previously held office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives between 2009 and 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977, Boyle continues to reside there and is an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame.
