Rep. Brendan Boyle, U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015, recently highlighted his legislative efforts and funding achievements for Philadelphia in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On September 8, 2025, Boyle emphasized his commitment to local funding: “One of my most important jobs as your Congressman is making sure Philadelphia gets its fair share. I’m proud to have delivered $1.1 million to help @Congreso1977 continue serving thousands of our neighbors every year.”

The following day, he addressed concerns about the use of federal funds: “Trump and his cronies need to keep their hands off our tax dollars. My Congressional Power of the Purse Act stops him from illegally withholding Americans’ money and holds violators accountable — with real consequences, including jail time.” This post referred to legislation he introduced aimed at preventing executive overreach in the allocation of public funds.

On September 10, 2025, Boyle continued this theme by referencing former President Donald Trump and former Office of Management and Budget director Russell Vought: “Trump and his OMB director, Russell Vought, are imposing Project 2025’s extreme agenda by dismantling the services and investments Americans rely on. I’m leading the fight against Trump’s power grab by introducing the Congressional Power of the Purse Act.”

Brendan Boyle has served in Congress since replacing Allyson Schwartz in 2015. Before that, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977, Boyle currently resides in the city he represents. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1999.
