Rep. Brendan Boyle, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015, has recently criticized former President Donald Trump in a series of posts on social media, focusing on economic and policy issues.

On August 26, 2025, Boyle wrote: “Donald Trump is committing economic sabotage. His reckless bid to remove Fed Governor Cook is already tanking the dollar.

It is illegal, it hurts workers and businesses, and it is nothing more than an attempt to scapegoat someone for his failure to lower costs.”

Three days later, on August 29, Boyle continued his criticism by stating: “Donald Trump promised to lower costs. Instead, prices keep climbing.

He’s handing billionaire donors massive tax breaks while working families face the largest loss of health care in American history.

American families can’t afford Trump’s reckless policies.”

Later that same day, Boyle added: “Trump’s ‘pocket rescission’ is plainly illegal. It isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.

As always, the only thing Donald Trump cares about is seizing more power for himself.

He couldn’t care less about the law, the Constitution, or helping American families.”

Brendan Boyle has served in Congress since replacing Allyson Schwartz in 2015 and previously represented constituents in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977 and currently residing there at age 46, Boyle graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999.
