Rep. Brendan Boyle, who represents Pennsylvania’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, criticized Republican lawmakers over health care policy and legislative actions in a series of posts on his official social media account.

On December 12, 2025, Boyle wrote: “I have a hard time believing that the same Republicans who voted this summer to cut health care for millions of Americans are suddenly concerned with the cost of health care. The only thing they are offering for Americans is political theatre.”

Continuing his critique on December 13, 2025, Boyle stated: “If Republicans were ever serious about saving health care costs, they could have signed onto a clean extension months ago. But they haven’t — and now they’re scrambling to pretend that they care about fixing the very problem they created.”

Later that day, he announced an upcoming event in Pennsylvania: “Headed to Scranton, PA to hold a town hall today — because their Republican congressman won’t.”

Brendan Boyle has served as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 2nd District since 2015 after succeeding Allyson Schwartz. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977 and currently residing there, Boyle graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999.
