Rep. Brendan Boyle, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015, expressed strong criticism of House Republicans’ actions regarding health care legislation in a series of tweets on July 3, 2025.

In a tweet posted at 03:02:28 UTC, Boyle stated, “House Republicans aren’t here in the Capitol late at night because they want to help American families. They’re not working late to lower costs or make life easier. They’re here late because they want to kick 17 MILLION PEOPLE off their health care in the middle of the night.”

Later that day, at 08:26:59 UTC, Boyle tweeted about his active role as Ranking Member of the House Budget Democrats during a debate on what he termed “Trump’s Big Bill for Billionaires.” He asserted, “This bill is an attack on my neighbors — and I’m not going to let Republicans kick 17 million Americans off their health care without a fight.”

Boyle continued his critique with another tweet at 14:35:54 UTC, targeting the Republican Freedom Caucus. He wrote, “They call it the House @freedomcaucus. They should rename it the House Folding Caucus. The Republicans who complained about Trump’s awful bill are about to vote for it anyway, even though not one word has changed.”

Brendan Boyle was born in Philadelphia in 1977 and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1999 with a BA. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015.
