Rep. Brendan Boyle criticizes GOP policies on healthcare and comments on Philly plane crash

Rep. Brendan Boyle, who represents Pennsylvania’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing health care funding, Medicaid cuts, and a local plane crash.

On March 31, 2026, Boyle questioned government spending priorities in a tweet: “What could we do with the money Republicans are spending on Trump’s Iran war? Instead of another war in the Middle East, we could have protected health care for millions of Americans. 22 million people could be paying lower health care bills — but Trump wanted a war instead.”

The following day, April 1, he commented on hospital closures and Medicaid policy: “Hundreds of hospitals are at risk of closing because Trump and Republicans cut Medicaid and gave tax breaks to billionaires. Republicans chose to risk the health of millions of people so their ultra-rich friends can get even richer.”

Later that same day, Boyle responded to an incident in his home city: “Terrible news to hear of a small plane crash near Fluehr Park in Northeast Philly. Praying for those involved and their loved ones.”

Brendan Boyle has served as U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 2nd District since 2015 after replacing Allyson Schwartz. Before his time in Congress, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977 and currently residing there, Boyle is also an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame.
