Rep. Brendan Boyle, a U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015, used his social media platform on April 15, 2026, to criticize former President Donald Trump and his administration’s budget priorities regarding health care and military spending.

In a post made at 16:30 UTC, Boyle wrote, “Trump and his Budget Director Russell Vought want Americans to think health care is ‘fraud,’ but somehow there’s always money for foreign wars. They’re cutting health care while asking for more money for their war in Iran. It’s completely out of whack with what Americans want.”

Later the same day, at 19:48 UTC, he commented on tax policy under the Trump administration: “Tax day reminds us that the only things certain in life under a Trump presidency are death, taxes, and tax breaks for billionaires. Trillions in tax breaks to the rich — while millions of Americans lose their health care. Trump’s billionaire friends win, the rest of us lose.”

Boyle continued his criticism in a third post at 23:37 UTC: “President Trump is prioritizing throwing more money at his Iran War over meeting the basic needs of the American people. Don’t just take my word for it, they’ve said it publicly. Trump proposed spending MORE on the war while millions of Americans are losing their health care.”

Brendan Boyle has served as U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 2nd District since replacing Allyson Schwartz in 2015. Before entering Congress, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977 and currently residing there, Boyle graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in 1999.
