Rep. Brendan Boyle, a U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015, has recently criticized former President Donald Trump and Republican leadership in a series of posts on his official social media account.

On December 18, 2025, Boyle posted: “Trump’s big announcement last night is that he’s taking money from our military and then putting his name on it. That’s not a dividend. This is like wrapping somebody’s stuff and gifting it back to them for Christmas. Everything this president does is a con.”

Later the same day, Boyle commented on Congressional actions regarding health care tax credits: “A bipartisan majority was ready to extend health care tax credits and keep premiums down. Instead, Republican leadership sent Congress home—allowing costs to rise and abandoning millions of Americans who needed relief.”

On December 19, 2025, Boyle again referenced Trump’s approach to governance: “Trump can tear down the White House or put his name on buildings in a matter of weeks. But apparently when it comes to being transparent with the American people and following the law, that’s a no-can-do. What is he afraid of?”

Brendan Boyle has represented Pennsylvania’s 2nd District in Congress since succeeding Allyson Schwartz in 2015 and previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977, he continues to reside there and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
