Rep. Brendan Boyle, U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015, used his social media platform on May 26 and 27, 2026, to criticize former President Donald Trump’s policies and their effects on American consumers.

On May 26, Boyle wrote, “Trump only cares about his billionaire ballroom and his slush fund for violent criminals who assaulted police on January 6th. I’m laser-focused on what Americans actually care about: getting costs down.”

Later that day, he commented on rising consumer prices during Memorial Day weekend, stating, “If it felt like things were even more expensive this Memorial Day, you weren’t imagining it: Gas: +28% Flights: +21% Beef: +15% Hot Dog: +11% Soda: +4% Tools/Hardware: +5%. Everything from cookouts to weekend projects costs more thanks to Trump’s disastrous policies.”

Continuing his criticism into the next day, Boyle added, “Trump isn’t draining the swamp — he’s just wasting taxpayer dollars putting a new coat of paint on it. Forever growing costs and delays on government projects are exactly what’s wrong with Washington, and Trump is making things even worse.”, May 27.

Boyle has represented Pennsylvania’s 2nd District in Congress since succeeding Allyson Schwartz in 2015. He previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977 and currently residing there at age 46, Boyle is an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame.
