Rep. Brendan Boyle, who represents Pennsylvania’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has posted a series of tweets criticizing former President Donald Trump’s economic policies and addressing recent developments regarding local infrastructure funding.

On December 15, 2025, Boyle wrote, “Trump’s tariffs are a national sales tax that drives up costs for consumers and runs small businesses into the ground. Trump’s been terrible at business his whole career. This is the same guy who owned a casino and somehow found a way to lose money. Sad!”

Later that day, he addressed issues surrounding funding for the Chinatown Stitch project: “I worked damn hard to secure historic investments for the Chinatown Stitch, all for Trump and Republicans to rescind the funding in a partisan vote. But I’m not giving up. I met with local leaders today and will not rest until this project is completed.” The tweet highlights ongoing efforts by Boyle to continue work on the project despite recent political setbacks.

On December 16, 2025, Boyle continued his criticism of Trump’s administration: “With every passing month, the data makes it clearer and clearer that Trump’s chaos is hurting working people. His backwards policies are raising prices and costing Americans jobs. But the president doesn’t care so long as his billionaire friends are doing well.”

Brendan Boyle has served as U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 2nd District since 2015 after succeeding Allyson Schwartz. Prior to his time in Congress, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977, Boyle currently resides there and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.
