Rep. Brendan Boyle, who represents Pennsylvania’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used his social media platform to highlight concerns over health care coverage and support for pediatric cancer research.

On December 16, 2025, Boyle addressed health care anxieties among his constituents, stating: “The number one concern I hear from people is about their health care coverage. Even if you aren’t on Medicaid, Medicare, or an Affordable Care Act plan, the Republican health care crisis will impact you. Their cuts will make premiums rise and hurt health care for everyone.”

Later that day, Boyle shared an encounter with a constituent advocating for increased pediatric cancer research funding. He wrote: “Honored to meet my constituent Latanya Morrison, who walked 179 miles from Philadelphia to Washington to demand more funding for pediatric cancer research, in memory of her grandson, Ahmad, who died of brain cancer. I was proud to greet her and her family at the finish line.” This meeting took place as Morrison completed a significant journey aimed at raising awareness and pushing for legislative action.

Continuing his focus on health policy on December 17, 2025, Boyle criticized recent Congressional actions regarding healthcare access: “Republicans in Congress, including the so-called moderates, voted to cut health care for millions of Americans this summer. Now, they have a new scheme. Instead of fixing the crisis they created, their new bill would actually kick even more Americans off their health care.”

Boyle has represented Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015 after succeeding Allyson Schwartz and previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977 and currently residing there at age 46, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999.
