State Rep. James Rigby announced on April 15 that the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) will provide over $9 million in financial support for two infrastructure projects in the 71st Legislative District.
The funding aims to improve water service and infrastructure for residents of Reade Township and Windber Area Authority. These investments are intended to enhance public health, safety, and economic development by addressing essential community needs.
“I was more than happy to support these two projects when approached by officials from Reade Township and Windber,” Rigby said. “These are investments in our communities and examples of responsible use of taxpayer dollars for the good of their residents.”
According to Rigby, the Reade Township Municipal Authority, which serves over 1,700 customers, will receive more than $5 million to replace waterlines along Cambria Mills Road and Sportsman Club Road. The project also includes installing a new water tank with a capacity of over 178,000 gallons next to the existing one. The Windber Area Authority has been awarded nearly $4.2 million for new water distribution piping and related infrastructure improvements.
Rigby serves as state representative for the 71st Legislative District according to his official website. He represents areas within Cambria and Somerset counties including several townships, boroughs, and school districts according to his official website.
