Penn State’s Rocquette Allen earned her sixth Big Ten Freshman of the Week award, the Big Ten Conference announced on April 20. This achievement makes Allen one of only four players to win at least six Freshman of the Week honors, tying her with Izzy Scane and Megan Whittle and just behind Madison Taylor. Her six awards are also a new record for any Penn State player in program history.

Allen completed her first regular season with two strong performances that helped keep Penn State competitive in close games. Over two ranked matchups played just one day apart, she totaled eight points with three goals and five assists, shooting at a 50% rate and placing 83% of her shots on goal. Against then-No. 6 Johns Hopkins, Allen recorded three assists as Penn State narrowly lost to the Blue Jays. In a game against then-No. 22 Rutgers, she scored a hat trick—her sixth this season—and added two assists for another five-point outing.

The Mountain Vista graduate ended the regular season as the leading freshman in points within the Big Ten Conference and has scored the second-most goals among all conference freshmen.

Looking ahead, Penn State will compete in the Big Ten Tournament starting Wednesday, April 22 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Nittany Lions are set to face four-seed and No. 8/7 Michigan at noon in their first-round matchup.
