Motorists in Lycoming County should be aware that the resurfacing and embankment stabilization project on Route 220 continues. The work, managed by Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., involves slope and roadway repairs between Picture Rocks Borough and Shrewsbury Township.

Starting the week of June 30, 2025, temporary traffic signals on Route 220 between Deer Lake Road and Barto Hollow Road will be fully operational. Drivers can expect single-lane conditions through fall 2025, with a current width restriction of 10 feet. Motorists are advised to remain cautious, slow down, and anticipate delays due to changing traffic patterns.

The $4.7 million project includes milling and resurfacing 5.6 miles of Route 220, line painting, guide rail upgrades, embankment stabilization using benched excavation and rock placement, superelevation improvements by modifying the cross slope, shoulder reconstruction, ADA curb ramps and curbing in Picture Rocks Borough, and bridge deck resurfacing. Completion is expected by fall 2025, weather permitting.

For real-time updates on road conditions, motorists can visit www.511PA.com or use the smartphone application available for iPhone and Android devices. The service provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras.
