Graduate student Kellen Ryan and junior captain Landon Simpson earned All-American status in the All-Around at the 2026 NCAA Championships, according to an April 18 announcement. Simpson finished as the top Penn State Nittany Lion competitor, placing fourth with a score of 77.298, narrowly missing a medal by less than one point. Ryan secured seventh place in the All-Around with a total of 76.098.

The achievement marks the most Penn State All-Around All-Americans since the 2023 season, when two athletes also received this honor. Both gymnasts’ performances capped off their seasons on a high note, with Ryan’s return for his final year proving significant after he considered ending his collegiate career last year.

In addition to Ryan and Simpson’s results, three other Penn State athletes competed for individual medals. Junior Akseli Karsikas participated on still rings and high bar, finishing 26th (12.800) and just outside podium contention in tenth (13.533), respectively. Freshman Ritam Malik placed 29th on rings with a score of 12.533 to conclude his first season, while fellow freshman Shaun Smith ended his debut campaign by scoring a 13.666 on vault.

The full breakdown of scores for both Ryan and Simpson included strong routines across all apparatuses: floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar.
