The College Squash Association announced on Apr. 17 that seven University of Pennsylvania squash athletes have been named to its All-American teams for the 2025-26 season, with five players earning first team honors and two selected for the second team.
This recognition marks a significant achievement for both Penn’s men’s and women’s squash programs. The women’s team, which won the Howe Cup national championship, had four athletes named All-Americans—its highest total since the 2013-14 season.
On the men’s side, Omar Hafez and Salman Khalil were both named first team All-Americans for the third consecutive year. Hafez concluded his senior year as Penn’s all-time wins leader with 71 victories, also earning Ivy League Player of the Year and Pool Trophy honors. He is joined by teammates Khalil and Marwan Abdelsalam on the first team. Khalil finished his junior year with a 17-2 record overall, was undefeated in Ivy League play at 6-0, reached the quarterfinals of the CSA Individual Championship, and now has a career total of 46 wins at Penn. Abdelsalam recorded a 14-5 overall record during his sophomore campaign and was also named to the All-Tournament team in the inaugural Ivy League tournament.
For Penn’s women’s squad, Malak Khafagy and Franka Vidovic earned spots on the first team while Sohaila Ismail and Malak Taha were selected to the second team. Khafagy received her second first-team honor after an undefeated conference run at No.1 in Penn’s lineup; she was also named Ivy League Player of the Year as she led her squad to a national title. Vidovic made her debut as a first-team selection this year after being recognized on last year’s second team; she ended her season with a record of 15-5 and advanced to quarterfinals in individual competition.
Ismail posted an undefeated mark in all matches this season while leading her squad with sixteen wins; she was chosen for both second-team All-American honors and second-team All-Ivy distinction after going unbeaten in conference play. Taha completed her season with fifteen victories—including three crucial wins during CSA Team Championships—and secured second-team recognition from both CSA All-Americans and Ivy League selectors.
These selections reflect continued success across both programs following their recent championship runs.
