Strasburg Police Department announced that Jose L. Izquierdo-Sanchez, 34, was charged with seven sexual assault-related offenses, including rape and aggravated indecent assault, following an incident at the Clarion Inn in Strasburg, Pennsylvania.
According to the Strasburg Police Department, the charges stem from an incident reported on December 11, 2025, at the Clarion Inn located at 1300 Historic Drive in Strasburg. The suspect allegedly assaulted a victim during the incident. He faces seven total counts, including two counts of rape and one count each of strangulation, indecent assault, simple assault, sexual assault, and aggravated indecent assault. Authorities said that Izquierdo-Sanchez is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Data from the Pennsylvania Uniform Crime Reporting System indicates that Lancaster County recorded over 180 reported sexual assault incidents in 2024, marking a 6% increase compared to the previous year. Local law enforcement agencies have noted that many such incidents occur in private or semi-public settings.
Nationally, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) 2023 Crime in the United States report shows that reported rape offenses increased by approximately 1.4% from 2022, totaling more than 142,000 cases nationwide. Pennsylvania accounted for roughly 3,700 of these cases.
