Borough of Brentwood issued the following announcement on Sept 24.
Due to the generous support of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the Borough has been able to retire its antiquated, inefficient wood chipper and to replace this device with a new model. In addition to increasing Brentwood's capacity to maintain its park and other public lands, this acquisition will also allow the municipality to better serve its residents.
The Borough is pleased to now supplement its fall leaf removal service from Waste Management with curbside yard waste collection events. Residents will be able to place branches and brush at the curb, and members of the Department of Public Works will transform these unwanted materials into mulch. The events are currently scheduled to take place on a quarterly basis, but the frequency may increase in accordance with demand.
This service will be available to all residents that receive residential trash service through the Borough contractor. Appointments for participation can be made by contacting Denise Assenti at 412-884-1500 x115 or via email at dassenti @ brentwoodboro.com. It is anticipated that the next collection date will be set for late November.
