Borough of Blawnox issued the following announcement on Oct 2.
The Pennsylvania General Election will be held November 3, 2020. This year Blawnox borough will be voting at the Blawnox Volunteer Fire Department at 366 Freeport Road, Blawnox, PA 15238.
If you will not be in the area for Election Day or if you are worried about Voting in person you can apply for an Absentee or Mail in Ballot. If you need an application they are available on our website or at the Borough Office. In addition the application can be filled out online at https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/OnlineAbsenteeApplication/#/OnlineAbsenteeBegin. The application for the mail in or absentee ballot must be recieved by October 27, 2020, however it is recommended that you request your ballot as early as possible. If you have already requested a mail in or absentee ballot you can check the status of your request at https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/pages/BallotTracking.aspx.
If you recieve a Mail In or an Absentee Ballot it is essential for you to follow the directions if you wish for your Ballot to be counted. The ballots must be filled out with a blue or black ink pen and you must darken the oval completely. After you mark your ballot you should re-fold it and place it in the smaller envelope marked "Official Election Ballot" and then securely seal it. Do not make markings or put any stickers on the "Official Election Ballot" envelope. After sealing that envelope place it in the larger envelope pre-addressed to the Elections Division. On the back of that envelope you must sign the "Voter's Declaration" and print your name, date and address. Absentee and Mail In Ballots are due by 8 pm on Election Day, November 3rd, 2020 but it is recomended to mail your ballot back as soon as possible.
If you requested an Absentee or a Mail In Ballot and you decide you would rather vote in person it is still possible. You can still vote in person at your polling place by taking the entire ballot packet (ballot plus envelopes) to your polling place, giving it to the poll workers and asking that your mail-in or absentee ballot be spoiled. Once that's done, you can vote as you normally would. If you do not return the full ballot including envelopes to your polling place you may only vote by provisional ballot at your polling place on Election day.
