Patriot Park to host Opening Ceremony on Sunday, May 29th 2022 at 7:00P.m
Guest speaker – Lt. General Walt Piatt with special music by the Bellwood Community Choir
In honor of America’s War on Terrorism veterans and Gold Star families, Patriot Park will open for it’s second season. Volunteers are needed to begin installing flags for its Field of Hero’s display on May 3rd-6th from 9am to noon, and on Saturday, May 7th from 9am until 3:30A.m. Over 7,000 U.S flags are installed into a pre-planned grid for this breathtaking tribute to remember each life lost during the twenty year war.
The park was able to reuse nearly half of the flags from the display last year, the rest were generously donated by Online Stores in New Stanton. The park will open officially to the public on May 14th, an opening ceremony will take place at the park rain or shine on Sunday, May 29th (7:00pm) Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
