On March 11, 2025, Fitzpatrick highlighted an important health issue affecting women by stating: "Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among women, yet for too long, the unique impact of this disease on women has been underfunded, under-researched, and overlooked. That’s why I fought to pass the Women and Lung Cancer Research and Preventative Services…"
