House Committee on Agriculture Chairman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson expressed approval of the recent announcement by EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin. The announcement pertains to the Trump Administration's intention to review and revise the definition of 'Waters of the United States' (WOTUS).

Chairman Thompson emphasized the significance of this decision, stating, "The Administration's decision to revise the definition of 'Waters of the United States' is a crucial step in correcting years of regulatory overreach and continuous uncertainty for farmers, ranchers, and rural communities." He highlighted that aligning federal water protections with the Supreme Court’s Sackett decision would bring clarity and reduce regulatory burdens.

Thompson further noted that this move empowers local and state governments in managing water resources while supporting economic growth and environmental stewardship. He acknowledged Administrator Zeldin's efforts in addressing concerns from America's agricultural community, saying, "I thank Administrator Zeldin for listening to America’s farmers and delivering much needed relief to our rural communities."
