Surface improvement work is set to begin in Washington County on Monday, June 30, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12. The project will affect Route 19 (Amity Ridge Road), Route 22 (William Penn Highway), Route 40 (Chestnut Street), and Route 1010 (Cecil Henderson Road/Georgetown Road/Valley Brook Road) in Amwell, Hanover, Buffalo, and Cecil townships.

The work schedule includes single-lane alternating traffic controlled by flaggers from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., as needed, through late October. On Route 19 in Amwell Township, between West Dividing Ridge Road and Mankey Road, operations will include milling, base repair, leveling, wearing, and pavement marking. Similar work will occur on Route 22 in Hanover Township between the Route 18 and Bavington interchanges.

Route 40 in Buffalo Township will see drainage updates between Valley View Road and Sunset Beach Road. Meanwhile, on Route 1010 in Cecil Township between Papp Road and Old Farm Road, the same operations as Routes 19 and 22 are planned.

Golden Eagle Construction Company has been contracted for this $6.2 million infrastructure project. All activities are subject to weather conditions. Motorists are advised to be cautious when traveling through these work zones.
