Temple Women and Families Hospital hosted an appreciation event on April 17 for Pennsylvania State Senator Christine Tartaglione and Pennsylvania State Representative Jason Dawkins, acknowledging their efforts in securing an $890,355 Commonwealth Capital Funding award. The funding will be used to upgrade the hospital’s generator and power supply system.

The event also marked the unveiling of a new Community Care Kiosk at Temple Women & Families Hospital. Developed in partnership with the Maternity Care Coalition, the kiosk provides free essential items such as diapers, wipes, and women’s hygiene products to those in need.

According to the hospital’s announcement, both 6abc and NBC10 covered the appreciation event. The presence of local media highlighted community interest in both infrastructure improvements funded by state support and expanded access to basic necessities for families served by the hospital.

The addition of the Community Care Kiosk aims to address immediate needs faced by many women and families visiting or living near Temple Women & Families Hospital. The collaboration with organizations like Maternity Care Coalition is intended to strengthen outreach efforts within Philadelphia’s communities.

As upgrades move forward using Commonwealth Capital Funding, hospital officials expect improved reliability during emergencies while continuing their commitment to supporting patients’ broader well-being through initiatives like the new kiosk.
