The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming changes to traffic patterns as part of ongoing bridge restoration work on Route 322 near Oak Hall in College Township. The project involves rehabilitating two bridges that span Route 3010 (Warner Boulevard) and Spring Creek. The goal is to enhance the ride quality, extend the service life, and improve the condition ratings of these bridges from fair to good.

Starting Tuesday, June 3, contractors will begin resetting temporary barriers and applying temporary paint markings to reopen the right travel lane of Route 322 eastbound. Subsequently, the left passing lane will be closed for demolition as part of the second phase of construction. The existing right lane closure on Route 322 westbound will remain in place.

The overall project includes pouring new concrete decking, joint sealing, repairing bridge railings, paving approaches, and other miscellaneous construction tasks. George S Hann & Son, Inc., based in Littleton, PA, is handling this $2 million project. Work is expected to conclude by the end of August, although progress is weather-dependent.

Additionally, a third bridge along Route 3022 (University Drive) spanning Route 26 in State College was also part of this contract and was completed during the 2024 construction season.
