The University of Pittsburgh announced on April 21 that it will host the 10th annual Doing Business with Pitt event on May 29. The event aims to help local small businesses learn how to secure contracts with the university system.

The initiative highlights the university’s economic impact in the region and its commitment to supporting local businesses. In 2025, the University of Pittsburgh reported more than $590 million in spending with local businesses.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the O’Hara Student Center Ballroom and is organized by the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence. Attendees will hear from guest speakers representing various Pitt departments, including dining services, athletics, and construction. Topics will include understanding the purchasing process and selling products or services to different parts of the university community.

Participation in Doing Business with Pitt is free, but advance registration is required.

By offering this annual program, the University of Pittsburgh continues its efforts to connect local entrepreneurs with opportunities within its campuses and contribute to regional economic growth.
