A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted a Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania resident on charges related to the production and possession of material depicting the sexual exploitation of minors. The announcement was made by First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
Anton Reed Sr., 33, is named as the sole defendant in the two-count indictment. According to court documents, Reed allegedly produced visual depictions involving the sexual exploitation of a minor on or about July 8, 2022. Additionally, he is accused of possessing videos and still images showing the sexual exploitation of minors—including prepubescent children under the age of 12—from December 10, 2022 through September 8, 2025.
If convicted, Reed faces a minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 30 years in prison, as well as a fine that could reach $750,000. The final sentence would be determined based on the severity of the offenses and any prior criminal record.
Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Silinski is prosecuting this case. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Allegheny County Police Department, and Wilkinsburg Police Department.
This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. The program brings together federal, state, and local resources to locate and prosecute offenders while also working to identify and rescue victims. “An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty,” officials stated.
