City of Allentown issued the following announcement on June 18.
In a letter from Dominican Festival Association President Sandra Vargas, the Dominican Festival Association very sadly communicates the decision to cancel the Dominican Festival 2020.
The Dominican festival in its 4 edition this year was planned to celebrate on Sunday, August 30 in Coca Cola Park, but due to the restrictions by the COVID - 19 that the state of Pennsylvania suffered limiting the number of people gathered and massive events, its organizing committee has taken this difficult decision.
We appreciate in any way the support and consideration that the city of Allentown team provided at the beginning of the year to help us organize our festival.
We hope that next year the Dominican community can celebrate together this day.
