President Donald Trump’s legal team is continuing its effort to get the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn several decisions by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court regarding alleged election fraud.
Rudy Giuliani told Newsmax TV that it was a slow process going state by state to work toward overturning the votes.
"I remember an old adage that I learned from baseball," Giuliani said to Newsmax TV. "When you're down by 10 runs, you can't score 10 runs on one hit. So you got to get one run at a time. So the way I look at it, we have to win one of these legislatures. I think we have three good ones to pick from: Pennsylvania, and Georgia, and Arizona."
Giuliani also said he wanted to make it clear that Sidney Powell, a former Trump attorney, was not going to be appointed as a special prosecutor to investigate election fraud.
"Let me say definitively: Sidney Powell is not part of our legal team,” Giuliani told Newsmax. “She hasn't been for five weeks. She is not a special counsel for the president. She does not speak for the president, nor does she speak for the administration. She speaks for herself. And she's a fine woman, a fine lawyer. But whatever she is talking about it's her own opinion. I'm not responsible for them. The president isn't, nor is anybody else on our legal team."
Giuliani said he and his team would aggressively fight their continued effort. He said that each state legislature has a strong basis to determine that the election was stolen in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona.
Giuliani said state legislatures have the final say under the U.S. Constitution. He said that is why his legal team has continued to hold hearings with state legislatures and presenting their case. He says votes were not accurately filed.
