Gov. Tom Wolf is all urging all Pennsylvania residents to get a free COVID-19 vaccine at one of over 3,000 locations. | CDC/Unsplash
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D) recently visited Hamilton Health Center in Harrisburg, where he continued to call for more Pennsylvanians to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
ABC 27 News reports that Hamilton Health Center is teaming up with Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity to provide Pfizer vaccines on Saturdays through a vaccine clinic.
For residents who do not live in Harrisburg, Wolf said there is likely a clinic available in or near their location. He went on to urge everyone to get vaccinated if they have not yet done so.
"I encourage all Pennsylvanians who have not yet been vaccinated to visit a pharmacy or a vaccine clinic or anywhere where the vaccine is available," Wolf told ABC 27 News. "(There are) over 3,000 of them across the commonwealth. Get your shot.”
No appointment is necessary to get a vaccine through the Hamilton Health Center clinic. Vaccination clinics will take place on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health recently released an update on the state of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths throughout the state on Pennsylvania Pressroom. As of Oct. 6, hospitalizations for COVID-19 were 2,891, with 675 of those in the ICU. The statewide test positivity rate for the week of Sept. 24 to Sept. 30 stood at 9.1%. A total of 29,722 deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported in Pennsylvania as of Oct. 5.
